Christmas tale / Poveste de Craciun

Cineva m-a intrebat de ce nu mai cos nimic in ultima vreme....Ba da, cos! doar ca o fac intr-un oarecare "secret" pentru expozitia din decembrie .

Someone ask me why I didn't sew anything lately....but I do! I just sew in a kind of "secret" for the december exposition we have in Bucharest.

Si ca sa ma credeti pe cuvint, uite o particica mica din quilt....doar o particica de pe o parte, adica de pe SPATE. ha-ha !

And to believe me, here is a small part of the quilt... a BACK small part.

Hmm...in fine : hai sa va arat in intregime...spatele!... fatza o veti vedea doar cind e gata marginea ;)) pai cum, daca vi-l arat de pe acum atunci unde e surpriza ?? :))

Hmm...well, let me show you all of it...all of the back, of course! LOL. The top ( front) you'll see only when is finished with the binding ;)) If I'll show it by now then where is the surprise ?? :)))

Pentru cunoscatori nu e nimic nou de deconspirat...pentru restul, ramine secret! ;)) Curiosi ? atunci va invit la expozitie sa descoperiti lumea mea de poveste ...poveste de Craciun.

Kati mi-a indicat un blog fantastic, al lui Colette...chiar daca nu inteleg deloc limba maghiara imi este suficient sa vad pozele. Are idei superbe Collette! ma intreb daca ar putea cineva sa-i traduca un "multumesc frumos pt idee" in limba ei natala... taaare mi-ar place sa pot traduce blogul ei in engleza sau macar in romana... Deci din ideile Collettei s-au nascut aceste cosulete pentru cosmetice sau bomboane sau orice altceva.
Fiecare cosulet a avut anexata cite o inimioara facuta de mine, din ipsos de modelaj.

Kati send me a fabulous blog link, to Collette...even I do not understand a word in hungarian it is enough for me seeing hers photos. She make such wonderfull things. I wonder if someone could translate her a " thank you for your great ideeas" in her language...I would love so much to can translate her blog in english or even romanian...
From Collette's ideeas were born these pretty fabric baskets for cosmetics or candy or anything else.
Each fabric basket had attached a small plaster heart hand-made by me.

Plimbare prin gradina...toamna... Goldie si-a bagat nasucul intr-o tufa inflorita

Nu stiu cum se face dar la noi in gradina s-a deschis, fara nici un anunt in prealabil , o gradinita de cirtite!! LOL...fac un dezastru si nu stiu cum sa scap de ele....uitati si voi ce s-a ales din gazon ! da-da, toate movilele acelea sunt "fabricate manual" de cirtite...uuf!

I just discover that in our garden was born a brand-new "Mole-kindergarten" LOL...they are making such a mess and I just don't know how to get rid of them...look how is now the turf ! oh, yes! all those small hills are "hand-made" by the moles...yeak!



Si la intoarcere spre casa cineva mi-a tras cu ochiul spunindu-mi : ne vedem anul viitor !"

Returning to home, somebody call me winking her eye , saying : "see you next year!"


O urma de avion pe cerul senin, un mar trist, pe jumatate desfrunzit si un catel cuminte.

A plane on an evening blue sky, a sad apple-tree- half naked, and a pretty good Goldie dog ;))




Si in casa am inceput din nou la lucru : decoratiuni pt Craciun din ipsos. Albe, aurii si argintii...
Dimensiuni aproximative : ingerasi 7cm inaltime, inimioare 6cm x 6cm... agatatori aurii , argintii si verde inchis . Decoratiunile pot fi agatate in brad, sau pe cadouri sau pur si simplu ca ornament in casa de Sarbatori. Cei albi aduc mult a shabby-chic... iubesc stilul acesta...mi-as decora toata casa asa...

Speaking of "hand-made" : lately I'm working on some plaster Christmas decorations. White, golden and silver. Angels, with aprox. 7cm height, hearts around 6cm x 6 cm. The white angels look pretty much shabby-chic....I love this style...I would decorate my entire home like this...

about Goldie

"Blondutza" mea este mult mai bine...cred si eu , dupa o saptamina de rasfat! au fost momente grele, triste si enervante citeodata dar uite ca au trecut. Cel putin sper ca "umbra intunecata" a plecat...departe...

My dearest "blondie" is getting well...I belive so, after a week full of spoiling her! there were hard and sad moments, annoying sometimes but look how they passed away. At least I HOPE that THAT "dark shadow" has gone away...far away...


Si azi se simte sexi...deh, o blonda imbracata in negru LOL.
And today she feels herself sexy all dressed up in black LOL.




Sunt momente cind catadicseste sa se ridice din hol, ( in urma operatiei inca doarme in casa, in holul principal ) si sa vina pina la fotoliul meu...isi pune botul pe mina asteptind mingiiere...pot sa ma abtin in fata boticului asta mic, umed si trist??

There are moments during the days when she is getting up from her place in the lobby ( she is still sleeping with us, after the operation, in the main lobby ) and she came right to my armchair waiting for some love...Can I behold myself when I see this pretty wet little sad nose ??


Imi amintesc acum, vazind pozele facute la disperare in zilele de dupa operatie- cind inca nu stiam daca va supravietui- , cit de greu e sa intelegi un suflet care sufera de durere si nu poate spune nimic...ii vezi doar ochii...si intelegi tot...nu e nevoie de nici un cuvint in plus...

I remember now, seeing those photos I take desperatly the days after the operation -when I didn't know that she will survive-, how HARD is to understand a soul that suffers in pain and can not say ANYTHING...you just see the eyes ...and completely understand all...it's not neccessary a word more...




Ca sa ii fie mai usor si ei, si noua am preferat sa ii facem perfuziile si tratamentul medicamentos acasa! A avut un cateter in labuta asa ca perfuziile au fost usor de administrat, dar pentru injectii ii ramin adinc recunoscatoare lui Mircea . I le-a facut cu curaj, cu toate ca nu a mai facut o injectie in viata lui...brrrr, mie mi se face rau cind vad acele...:((
Si ca sa-i placa, a avut un cearceaf rosu pentru tratament...e vorba de o fetita sa nu uitati! ;))

To make her easier the perioud of treatment, we prefered to make her perfusions at home! She had a catheter in her left front leg so the perfusions were easy to make, but for the injections I still remain gratefull to Mircea. He made them with courage, even that he didn't make another one in his whole life....brrrr,I get sick in front of those needles...:((
And to make all more enjoyable she was spoiled with a red sheet for the treatment...it's a girl, don't forget ! ;))



Ca sa nu isi linga operatia a fost nevoie sa o "imbrac"... Este putin stresata din cauza asta dar parca tot mai bine asa decit cu un guler din plastic in jurul capului...

To avoid letting her lickking the operation I was forced to "dress" her up. She is a little bit stressed about it but it's better this then that plastic collar around her head...

De-acum face plimbare obligatorie prin gradina, sa o bata soarele si sa se improspateze. Si pe cuvint ca a devenit rasfatata!! cind o chem afara , se uita luuung la mine si da din coada...tacticoasa ...parca spune : "-nope, mai tirziu... "

From now on she must take a long walk through the garden , to get some fresh air and sun.
I think she really , I mean REALLY, become spoiled !! when I ask her to come out at a walk , she looks at me with looong eyes and just flick her tail..like saying : " - nope...later..."

MULTUMESC tuturor celor ce mi-au scris, intrebindu-ma de Goldie. Gindurile voastre bune au ajutat enorm. Multumesc!

Exercitii pentru stippling si pentru pictat cu atza ( thread painting)... Pe matase crem , trandafiri gri-argintii...M-am blocat la margine, sunt indecisa de forma - drept sau in valuri -pe negru sau pe gri...cu embellishari sau nu...Embellishari am spus? frunze de trandafir din fetru gri, brodate cu ata metalica argintie si eventual feltate ici si colo pe margine...cum suna ??

Exercises for stippling and thread painting...on cream silk background some gray-silver roses. I'm stuck on border and binding, I'm quite unsure about the form : square or scallops, black or gray, embellished or not. Embellished I said ? well some gray felt rose leaves, embroidered with silver metallic thread...scattered here and there on the border...how's that ??



Spatele...trapunto adevarat...poate chiar mai reusit decit fata...ma gindesc sa folosesc ambele fete la expunere...poate chiar sa pictez putin spatele cu argintiu....hmmm...prea multe idei pt un cap mic . ha-ha...

The back of the quilt : a real trapunto ! maybe more attractive than the right side...I'm thinking to use both sides for showing...perhaps some little silver painting on the petals...hmmmm... too many ideeas for a small head. LOL.



Si pentru ca eu nu ma pot opri la doar o piesa, ( oricum am in lucru 3-4 creatii deodata pe care le pun sub ac dupa pofta si chef) am pus putin la treaba si ustensila Clover pentru facut pom-pom-uri. O achizitie de acum 3 ani care isi arata utilitatea de-abia acum...Eu am o vorba : " ceea ce cumpar EU, in mod sigur intr-o zi este foarte folositor!" trebuie doar asteptata ziua respectiva.ha-ha...

And because I can't stop at just one piece ( anyway I have in work 3 or 4 pieces that I put under the needle when and if I want ) I put for a little work the Clover pom-pom maker that I bought about 3 years ago...Quite a usefull shopping...I have a saying : " what I- personally- buy is really needed some day ", all you have to do is wait for THAT day. LOL.



O plimbare prin gradina toamna si ma intorc cu buzunarele pline : piersici albe si alune . Mi-e gindul la o prajitura parfumata....

Always after a walk in my garden in autumn I came back with full pockets : white peaches and hazelnuts. I'm just thinking at a juicy cake....



Culorile toamnei sunt incredibile...natura este incredibila...si da! ACELA este degetul meu :))

Si acum o privire furisa, mica-mica, la proiectul meu de Craciun ! adica sper ca aceasta lucrare sa fie gata pentru expozitia din decembrie a ARP la Casa Schiller - Bucuresti. Atit, doar o mica privire furisa...;))

Si acum pentru ca surpriza deja a fost primita si nu mai este un secret, pot sa va arat ce am lucrat in ultima saptamina.
Un quilt ,din inima, pentru prietena noastra Mariana care a suferit o mare pierdere. Fiecare prietena a Marianei , membre ale Asociatiei Romane de Patchwork - ARP - a facut o inimioara crazy, iar eu am asamblat si finalizat lucrarea. Au pus bucatica din inima lor urmatoarele , in ordinea de pe quilt : Rapeanu Dodi, Dora Deme, Daniela Gugurel, Smaranda Bourgery, Elena Chipara, eu, Adina Popescu ( initiatoarea proiectului), Ela Ghioc, Betty Popescu, Smaranda Popescu si Julieta Mirea.Din cauza serviciilor proaste ale Postei Romane nu au mai ajuns la mine inimioarele Mariei Bornikoel si a Carminei Plosceanu, dar evident ca "bat" si ele alaturi de celelalte din quilt.
Topul :

And now, because the surprise is already received by the recipient and it's no longer a secret, I can show you on what I've been working in the last week. A heart, and from heart, quilt for our friend Mariana who suffered a great lost in her life. Every friend of Mariana, members of Romanian Association of Patchwork - ARP - done a crazy heart and I asembled and finish the whole quilt.
The followings put a tiny part of their hearts in this quilt, in the order from it :
Rapeanu Dodi, Dora Deme, Daniela Gugurel, Smaranda Bourgery, Elena Chipara, eu, Adina Popescu ( the head of the project ), Ela Ghioc, Betty Popescu, Smaranda Popescu si Julieta Mirea. Because of the mistakes in services of the Romanian Post I never received the hearts from Maria Bornikoel and Carmina Plosceanu, but they are still "beating" along the others...

Detaliu...trebuie sa recunosc ca am fost mirata, primind inimioarele pe rind, prin posta, de cit simt artistic si finete exista in mica lucrare a fiecaruia...detalii pe care doar in fata quiltului le poti evalua si "simti" cu adevarat.

Detail ...I must recognise that I was each time surprised, receiving one by one the hearts by mail, of how much artistic and fine work stays in each small piece of the hearts....details that only in front of the quilt you can evaluate and "feel" ...

Am asteptat, noi toate, reactia Marianei...care a venit repede, calda, cu lacrimi si cu recunostinta.

We, all, waited Mariana's reaction...which came quickly, with warm words, tears and gratefull.
Our target was fully touched.:))

How stupid someone could be ??

Cit de prost poate sa fie omul citeodata ?? Foaaarte...va spun eu! poftim ce s-a-ntimplat: pe cind imi mergea si mie bine totul,poate prea bine ca sa fie adevarat, si cind cu mult curaj am hotarit sa schimb bindingul la quiltul crazy cu o bentita argintie, ma pomenesc ca am taiat ca netoata din fundita respectiva, cu citeva zile inainte, fara sa-mi dau seama de dezastrul ce va urma...asa ca acu' stau in pom...nu pentru mult timp, doar ma cunoasteti...ceva tot fac eu...;))

How stupid can someone be ?? VERY, I told you! here is what happened : when everything seems to be to perfect to be true, when with all my courage I decided to change the binding at my crazy quilt with a silver ribbon, I found myself in a very stupid moment when I realized that, severeal days before I cut from THIS ribbon instead of other, without knowing the following disaster... so , now, I'm sitting up in the nowhere...but not for long, you know me ;))

Sunt o lenesa...o mare lenesa...din cauza vremii ! ;)) ploua si e trist....asa ca nu merge nimic...si ca sa fiu in ton cu picurii de ploaie si totusi cu gindul la o toamna frumoasa, m-am apucat din vreme de tricotat.Simplu...;))
I'm a lazy...a big lazyyyy...due tot the weather, of course! ;)) it's raining, it's cold and sad...anything isn't going right so to be "accorded" to the rain drops and still thinking at a beautifull, warm and smelly autumn I started early a small knitting. Like that, simple...;))

Oh, cel mai frumos lucru din zilele acestea a fost sosirea comenzii din SUA de la Sharon Schamber. Am comandat un SUPREME SLIDER, un QUILT HALO si am primit cadou un model de quilting creat de Sharon.
Ooh, and the prettiest thing of these days was receiving the parcel from Sharon Schamber ( USA).I ordered a SUPREME SLIDER, a QUILT HALO and I received as gift a pattern, Sharons' creation.



Aici am si pus in practica halo-ul pt quilting si in dreapta se vede putin din tablita slider. Niste minunatii, pe cuvint ! merita investita! sunt super incintata ca de data aceasta am cheltuit banii cu cap si cu rost. Si cu rezultate evidente ;)).
Tablita Slider este o minunatie, nu greseste deloc Sharon cind spune ca pe ea un quilt aluneca ca o rata pe apa LOL. Este un vis...nu mai simt durerea in umeri, nu mai simt muschii minilor tensionati si nu trebuie sa fac pauze atit de dese...
iar Halo-ul ?? oooh...un "gadget" pe care il pot trece pe lista FOLOSITOR CU ADEVARAT. Este de fapt un cerc de metal greu, invelit intr-o suprafata cauciucata care se "lipeste" efectiv de suprafata quiltului, astfel acesta devine atit de usor de manevrat incit cu 2 degete fac stippling cintind...
Si va rog sa ma credeti le-am cumparat pe bani , nu le fac reclama dintr-un motiv ascuns!!

Here, as you can see, I already put at work the quilting halo and in the right side it can be seen a small part of the supreme slider. They are really treasures, believe me! I'm so proud that this time I spend some money in something really usefull. And with obvious results.
The slider is a dream, Sharon is right about saying that, on it the quilt is sliding like a duck on the water.LOL. With it I don't feel the pain in the shoulders, I don't have my arm muscles tensioned and I don't need to make so much pauses.
And what about the halo ?? oohhh..it's a "gadget" that I can label pretty fair with REALLY USEFULL. It is actually a heavy metall ring, coated with a rubbery surface that "cling" to the quilt surface...so I can make stippling with two fingers singing...
And please believe me I did payed for them, I don't advertise for some hided reason!

apoi am trecut la scos simburele si am le-am aruncat, bineinteles, pe cele cu " carne bio" ha-ha!
then I take out the stones and of course, put away those "bio meaty" ( with worms LOL)

Imi place sa pastrez totul simplu, cit mai rustic, asa ca : voila! sistemul meu de fierbere. la foc de lemne . Realizat din 3 pereti din caramida , cadrul din lemn si bineinteles...cratita de inox. Aceasta cratita este atit de mare incit are locul ei de repaus stabilit pe raftul din garaj, este enorma si nu incape in bucataria mea mica...Aceasta este prima poza de cind am pornit fierberea...care va dura timp de 5-6 ore pe timpul zilei de azi.
I like to keep everything pretty simple and rustical, so : voila! my boiling system. With natural wood fire. Made of 3 brick walls, wood frame and of course the inox big pot. This pot is so big that it has its own rest place on the garage shelf ( it's too big for my small kitchen) This is the photo when the plums are set in the pot, at the beggining of the boiling....that will last for aproximative 5-6 hours during the day...a lot of hand-spinning ...

Cam asa arata dupa citeva ore de fiert....pentru ca nu am folosit DELOC zahar, fierberea dureaza mult mai mult dar merita!! se pastreaza gustul natural al prunelor.
This is how it looks after several hours of boiling...because I did not use ANY sugar, the boiling process takes a lot of time...but it worth it !the result is more natural, preserving the real taste of plums.


Si cam pe la final, deja obositi de atita invirtit in cratita, si de povestit si de citit ( ceva trebuie sa faci timp de atitea ore, nu ?) magiunul incepe sa miroase in toata curtea...Mmmmm...
And around final, when tired for such long hand spinning, and talking and reading ( well, we have to do something during all these long hours, no ?) the "magiun" start to smell all over the yard....Mmmm...

Dupa ce se raceste bine si prinde pojghita la suprafata, adica cam pe a doua zi, se inchid borcanele cu capace. Acum poate sa vina si iarna..."dulce" avem destul ;)) chiar si pentru prieteni.
After is getting cold and dry on the surface, I mean about next morning, the jars have to be closed.Now the winter can come, we have enough "sweet" even for friends.
