longing for spring

Dor de primavara....dor de flori diafane, fin parfumate ...asa cum numai primavara poate sa existe...culori calde, energizante....ca si acestea : 

Longing for spring....longing for ethereal flowers....as only in spring I can find....warm colours, vivid colours....energizing ones....like those : 

si ...surpriza !am facut prima palarie reversibila. ;)

and, suprise !! I made my very-first reversible hat . ;)

Marginea borului am imbracat-o in banda bias -  de bumbac de aceasta data ;)....si la fel si snurul  rasucit dublu, incheiat printr-o simpla fundita. Ca sa se potriveasca pe ambele fete ale palariei.
Banda bias am montat-o destul de usor cu acest piciorus special :
The edge of the brim is enclosed in a cotton bias tape. Same is the cord, twice twisted and ended with a simple bow. Just to fit for the both faces of the hat. 
The bias tape I sew on with this special foot : 

 

trebuie sa recunosc ca pretul lui ridicat se justifica in intregime ( mai ales ca eu nu am prins reducerile imense de acum : http://www.nancysnotions.com/product/supplies/binding/bias+binder+foot+low+shank.do) 

 Nu e nevoie de insailat, nu prins cu bolduri, nu dureri de cap. Introduci banda bias in lagarul ei special, stringi cu surubelul din dreapta pina ce ai ajuns la latimea benzii , introduci sub ac si ...atit. Adica, da : mai trebuie sa apesi pe pedala masinii de cusut :)))). Cu foarte putina atentie, totul merge ca pe roate.

I must recognise that its high price is entirely justified ( especially that I didn't get these huge sales like now : http://www.nancysnotions.com/product/supplies/binding/bias+binder+foot+low+shank.do ) .

 Don't need to baste anything, don't need to use pins, don't have any headache. :) Just put the tape inside the slot, set the proper width of it by squeezing the screw, fold it under the foot and this is it! All of it ! oh, yes : and push the pedal to sew :))) Just small atention is required and everything is just like walking on water.

update for yesterday

Se pare ca nu e usor sa realizez proiectul auto-impus : o palarie pe zi.
De ce ? pai, pentru ca inainte de hobby exista atitea altele importante de facut, mai exista zile cind ploua :) sau zile cind nu ma simt bine....in fine, ieri a fost una din acestea...cu de toate. Asa ca ieri nu am facut nici o palarie...azi, insa...;)
It seems that isn't easy to stick to my auto-imposed project : a hat a day. Why ? well, because before my hobby there are so many important things to do, there are rainy days or days I feel not quite well....yesterday was one of this....with everything in it. So that, yesterday no hat was made. But today... ;) Today is different. 

Si cum nu fiecare zi e la fel cu precedenta, atunci si acest articol va fi diferit. Voi incepe de la coada la cap ...si va voi arata cum am schimbat banda bias de saten cu o alta  banda,  matasoasa, speciala pentru palarii. Aceasta necesita doar o singura cusatura . Din pacate nu am gasit alta culoare la mercerie, dar imi place nuanta ei cafenie, fina, feminina. Ma gindesc -ca pentru toate palariile ce urmeaza sa le fac- sa folosesc tot acest model de banda...Ma gindesc....depinde de palarii....depinde ce idei....depinde de ziua de miine.

And as there is no day like other, then so this post will be different. I'll start with the end and I'll show you how I change that slippery sateen bias tape  with a new one, silky and special for hat-making. This is fixed with just one stitch-line. Like this. Unfortunately I didn't find any other colour at the shop, but I do like its gracious coffee shade, very feminine. I'm thinking that for the rest of my hats I will use just this kind of tape. I'm just thinking...depends on the type of hat...depends on what idea will I have....depends on the day of tomorrow ...Well, no ??

Exact la fel ca celelalte palarii , borul este intarit pe ambele parti, ceea ce il face "manevrabil" dupa dorinta. Am ales sa fie mai chic dezvelind o sprinceana....brosa este tot by tiktakro : "Floare de mac". 

The brim is interfaced on both side so it can be switched as desired in many shapes. 

I choose to make it a little bit more chic, revealing an eyebrow...the brooch is also by tiktakro : "Poppy flower".

Ei bine ? niste pareri , niste sfaturi, niste idei ???  astept cu interes.  

Well ?? some reviews, some advices, some ideeas ??? I wait all of them interestedly.

si spatele  - parerea mea este ca este cea mai frumoasa parte....pacat doar ca pozele sunt facute acum , la ceas de noapte si nu arata toata frumusetea....(poate miine schimb pozele cu altele mai bune )

and the back - in my opinion this is the best part...too pitty that I took the pictures now, almost midnight and they don't reveal all the beauty of the hat....perhaps I will change the pictures tomorrow with better ones ) 

iar interiorul foarte sec, gri  : ( cu banda bias facuta de minuta mea ;) ) Ce convenabil ;).

the interior is very simple : grey ...with my own made bias tape from the same lining ;). How convenient ;)

Pina acum se pare ca imi respect planul : o palarie pe zi :). 

Aceasta s-a finalizat azi dis-de dimineata ( din lipsa de somn) dar sesiunea de fotografii nu a putut fi tinuta decit la lumina zilei...

Untill now it seems to me that I do stuck to my plan : a hat a day. :)

This one was finished early, really early , in the morning ( due to lack of sleep ) but the photo-shooting could not be kept until day light . 

 

Din material turqoise ( imaginea reda intru-totul culoarea reala ) cu buline colorate...tot imi plac materialele cu buline si bulinute....

Are o usoara forma de fedora, dar bineinteles ca borul poate fi purtat oricum, in toate pozitiile datorita interfetei Vlieseline. Are corp , poate fi mototolita in buzunar si apoi doar cu citeva miscari strategice plasate in interior se aseaza la loc in forma initiala .

Made in a turquoise cotton fabric ( the image did reveal the real colour ) with coloured dots....I still love dots-fabrics...a lot of dots....

It has an easy resembling of a fedora hat, but the brim could be set in any position due to the Vlieseline interface presence. It has it own body, you can stuff it in your pocket and then with just some quickly moves on the inside, it gains back its' initially shape.

Captuseala, din bumbac, se asorteaza bulinutzelor :)....unora din ele ;). Banda bias de satin....musai sa gasesc pe viitor un inlocuitor, ceva mai practic, mai simplu, mai economic decit banda aceasta bias de satin.. 

The cotton lining is assorted to some of the dots :). Closed with a sateen bias tape...I must find in future a more economical replacement for this bias tape....

Mda...mie imi mai plac - enorm-  tortillas....cu ruccola, ceapa rosie, ardei gras si ...in fine, ce alte pofte oi fi avind. Musai putin sos tzatziki, pe gustul meu....

Well....I do also like ( sorry : LOVE :) ) tortillas....filled with rucola salad, red onion, red pepper and what else I crave about.....For me, the tzatziki sauce is a must. :)

a hat a day, could be possible ?

Ei bine, am un nou plan....o palarie pe zi !  Realizabil ?? vom vedea.... 

Well, I've got a new plan for me : a hat a day ! Is this possible ? will see...

Povestea incepe ca de fiecare data cu   a fost o data ca niciodata un ...tipar. Un simplu tipar...care are nevoie de remodelari, ajustari si ...innoiri conform modei de azi.

The story begins like every time with  once upon a time was a....pattern. A very simple pattern....which needs adjustments, remodelling and re-fashion like for nowadays.

Citeva calcule matematice...doamne ce bine ca am invatat geometria la timpul ei ;).

A few math calculations...gosh, I feel so good that I learnt proper geometry in school ;)

citeva materiale, citeva ace....multa rabdare...nu e usor chiar din prima.... drept dovada stau palariile de proba portocalii - in dreapta imaginii urmatoare -cu final "nefericit" :))...( a se citi : calcule proaste ) 

some fabrics, some pins...a lot of patience...is not easy, you know...( as a proof you can see some orange sample hats in the right of the next photo , hats with an "unhappy" finish....due to bad calculations)

asta a fost ieri....azi este aceasta : 

that was yesterday....today is this : 

palarie in fetru bleumarin, simpla, eleganta.... franjurii inconjoara 2/3 din circumferinta borului. 

Pentru un look zglobiu franjurii zboara liber in jurul ei, pentru un look mai serios se pot "pieptana" in jos, lipindu-se de bor.

Borul se poate purta in mai multe moduri : ridicat sau coborit in intregime, ridicat pe o parte sau pur si simplu ca o simpla palarie fedora.

Palariile au strat de intarire Vlieselina - marca Freunderberg- pentru a obtine o forma corecta.

Blue felt hat, simple, stylish with the fringes on 2/3 around the brim. For a fancy feel,  they can fly freely -  are quite chic - or for a more serious look - just "combed" down on the brim...Also the brim is a multi-wear style: up or down completely , a side up or just like a simple fedora. 

The hats are worked with Vlieseline interfacing - from Freunderberg - just to achieve a proper shape.

Trebuie sa caut in rezervele mele o alta bucata de material....ceva diferit...inca nu sunt sigura ce sau care va fi ....dar , ramineti pe aproape, miine poate sa apara o noua palarie.
