Purple crumpled flower - tutorial

Do you remember my awfully blue fingers from yesterday photos ? well, I will reveal now the cause .
Next a tutorial for making a crumpled paper flower punched with Stampin'Up flower blossom punch . Something different than just layering the petals one on top the other. This is how I make this flower :

punch some petals with the SU punch from  white paper ( something fleshy than 80 gr/mp ) :

then spray them with a water-coloured mist of your choice ( mine is diy , kind of home-made LOL ) .
Use for spraying a box that will help you catch all the drops and save your worktable . Put a white paper ( or recycled one ) on the back and bottom. Later you'll can use this paper in some mixed media project or anything else that requires some crazyness in it ;) . Don't worry about the curling effect, they will become flat quickly . You have to turn the petals to spray them on both sides.

With them still damp, start folding, once, twice , three times. You'll get it quite quickly how to fold, holding the paper in you hands. Now you'll understand why I get blue fingers.  LOL.
I'll keep in mind to use some doctor gloves next time . Hope to remember....

When you get to have just one petal by folding, start crumpling it between your fingers. Like so :

Then dare more : twist it ! Carefully to not break the paper, it is still wet.

Let them dry completely as they are , twisted.

They will dry slowly, don't rush them or you can get all wrong.
Once they are completely dry and crispy, start unfolding them with great care. Try not to flatten too much the pieces, you want to achieve a crumpled/wrinkled look.

With the help of a scoring tool and some tweezers start layering them as you pleased. The opened one on the base layer, the others up. Put some strong wet glue between the layers to keep them all secure .

You can add in the middle a smaller shape worked in the same manner . The fuller, the beautiful . Like this :

A small pearl in the center makes it finished. Or you can add something else : a button, some paper-flakes, small beads glued together, anything you fancy. I prefer simple with one pearl.

Cut and work from the beginning many punched shapes so you'll have in the end several flowers. Of course, you can make small flowers in the same manner with a smaller punch. The smaller, the painstaking. LOL.

Now that you have a beautiful crumpled flower, you should put it on something, no ?
I made a box, I think I felt in love with small, cute boxes. Candies boxes. Or candy boxes ? :D

Did I sparkle your desire for making such a flower ? if yes, will you show me your result ? I'll be more than happy to get some feedback from you.

Some of my latest works

Some of my latest works... as I said on FB : having so many friends is a blessing and also means a lot of practice in scrapbooking :D. I just love it !

First one :

with an hand embossed line inside and a handwriting wish .... I know , there are so many arguments for handwriting vs. computer sentiments. I still believe that a handmade card needs a hand write wish/thought inside. It's a handmade creation after-all, no ?

The second one ...I'm in love with the color combination, I must make myself one :D . This is so "me"
All of these are made with Crafter's Companion free papers. Here and there a small extra- addition , like these hemp ribbon, pearls and some more...

And the last one :

the inside is dark color , I was thinking that I can use a glitter marker for writing the wish , but in the end I added a cream paper, also with decorative side. Much easier to read the inside . The picture are made before the last addition.

And a small peek during coloring the stamps or digi-stamps ( here is a free digi-stamp from Bugaboostamps , they have every Friday a new free cute digi-stamp ;). I love them .
As you can see I'm coloring with Lyra colored crayons.... and here we enter in the world of other arguments Copic markers, aquarelle crayons or just colored crayons. I use what I have. :)
Isn't scrapbooking fun-fun-fun ?

latest works

By now, everyone knows that I'm deeply in love with scrapbooking :D. Well, this is me : restless in hobby. Step by step I'm going in THAT direction that I'm longing for since so many years... for now it's secret ;) But you'll be among first to know. ;)

Learning about scrapbooking day by day, shopping ( less lately, but still some... stamps and papers, and punches and embellishments  ) , receiving beautiful die-cuts from friends that share same passion as mine and are more lucky to have a die-cut machine , working and trying and trying... some results get in the garbage-bin, some get out well and are already gifted.
Let's see :
first of all, my tool collection get bigger with the addition of some punches ( another love of mine beside stamps :D )

and still I don't have a proper way to store them - they sit still in baskets, arranged somehow by size . If anyone has a great idea for storing these , it is more then welcomed.

Then some new stamps appear in the collection ;)  :

I just can't hold myself when it comes about stamps :)))...anyone else suffering from the same ? :D
And now some works to show off :
a romantic birthday card  - I absolutely adore these colors:

a thank you card :

a funny card for a quick competition :

and a card for a silver wedding celebration .

As any beginner, I'm searching my way, my style... perhaps it's too soon at least to think about it just because I'm so anxious to work different techniques, different layouts.
Let's see what future brings . I have my arms large opened. :D

Wishing you a beautiful and creative day !

So , another birthday card . Just pure and simple .

I'm longing for spring obvious the presence of ladybugs . No antiquing this time, just simple.

The inside panel is a new try, for a better writing background . Here is still in white .
A little feminine, a little romantic, a little chic. ;)

oh, well....

Well, I know-I know, I'm late again .....but what to do when life is so busy ?
My scrapbooking mania didn't left me.At all.  LOL. As my dearest one celebrated his birthday a few days ago, I made one card for him, too. ;).
I like the " less is more" style, as you can see....

And it has a little secret pocket inside, showing celebrations number.
He's my handsome grey-hair guy and I love him totally.
Do you read this, dear ? :D

And as outside is more winter than spring, not taking in count what calendar says, I bring inside some branches that finally did flourished. But they are totally white instead of deep pink...and no smell at all. Still : at least a feast for the eyes. A mini  inside "fake" spring ;).

This changing weather gives me headaches... so , one more coffee and I'm ready to go on further.

See you soon. ;). I have something nice to show you ;) ( oh, this modesty of mine :P )

Love Day

As one of my friends says : there's no need for a special day to celebrate love ...it must be permanent.
Still, absorbed in this huge flow of Valentines here and there , I made my own ...proofs. Several days ago .  They were kept hidden until today at 00 a.m. Yep, an early hour for showing off my love to my LOVE. :))

First of all I did my very first scrapbooking card , of which I'm very proud . With low materials and tools stash, still I think it's pretty.

Scrapbooking is the ultimate hobby that I like.... I'm dreaming, I'm learning, I'm craving and I'm hoping that I can make it at some level, too . I'm just quite horrified of how much investment means a new hobby now. Papers, cardboards, tools, embellishments, stamps, a lot of small things that costs sooo much. But nobody hurries me, no ? and a girl must have some personal pleasures, ain't it ?  ;) :D
Ok.

As I do have one big heart punch ( 7cm ) I imagine, for today,  the house dressed in ...hearts. Imagination doesn't means always practicality so....the conclusion : too much for me ( I'm quite simple, but romantic ) so I make just one. On a stick. Double -faced. It was our company for this morning breakfast. A lot of smiles during this breakfast, you know ;)
And now stop with scrapbooking. Let's go back to decoupage. Yep, the one before last liked hobby :D
I learned a new technique so I thought ( do you see how often do I think ? :D ) that something good must result from practicing.
Of course a heart. What else ? :D
All dressed up in silk paper, embellished with glass beads, a central rice-paper panel and a handmade weaved cord for hanging. 18 cm each way.

extremely romantic, do you agree ?
a small detail

White and delicate, very romantic, you named it. But it come out straight from my heart.
 I love you, my love ! ;)
