longing for spring

Dor de primavara....dor de flori diafane, fin parfumate ...asa cum numai primavara poate sa existe...culori calde, energizante....ca si acestea : 

Longing for spring....longing for ethereal flowers....as only in spring I can find....warm colours, vivid colours....energizing ones....like those : 

si ...surpriza !am facut prima palarie reversibila. ;)

and, suprise !! I made my very-first reversible hat . ;)

Marginea borului am imbracat-o in banda bias -  de bumbac de aceasta data ;)....si la fel si snurul  rasucit dublu, incheiat printr-o simpla fundita. Ca sa se potriveasca pe ambele fete ale palariei.
Banda bias am montat-o destul de usor cu acest piciorus special :
The edge of the brim is enclosed in a cotton bias tape. Same is the cord, twice twisted and ended with a simple bow. Just to fit for the both faces of the hat. 
The bias tape I sew on with this special foot : 

 

trebuie sa recunosc ca pretul lui ridicat se justifica in intregime ( mai ales ca eu nu am prins reducerile imense de acum : http://www.nancysnotions.com/product/supplies/binding/bias+binder+foot+low+shank.do) 

 Nu e nevoie de insailat, nu prins cu bolduri, nu dureri de cap. Introduci banda bias in lagarul ei special, stringi cu surubelul din dreapta pina ce ai ajuns la latimea benzii , introduci sub ac si ...atit. Adica, da : mai trebuie sa apesi pe pedala masinii de cusut :)))). Cu foarte putina atentie, totul merge ca pe roate.

I must recognise that its high price is entirely justified ( especially that I didn't get these huge sales like now : http://www.nancysnotions.com/product/supplies/binding/bias+binder+foot+low+shank.do ) .

 Don't need to baste anything, don't need to use pins, don't have any headache. :) Just put the tape inside the slot, set the proper width of it by squeezing the screw, fold it under the foot and this is it! All of it ! oh, yes : and push the pedal to sew :))) Just small atention is required and everything is just like walking on water.

update for yesterday

Se pare ca nu e usor sa realizez proiectul auto-impus : o palarie pe zi.
De ce ? pai, pentru ca inainte de hobby exista atitea altele importante de facut, mai exista zile cind ploua :) sau zile cind nu ma simt bine....in fine, ieri a fost una din acestea...cu de toate. Asa ca ieri nu am facut nici o palarie...azi, insa...;)
It seems that isn't easy to stick to my auto-imposed project : a hat a day. Why ? well, because before my hobby there are so many important things to do, there are rainy days or days I feel not quite well....yesterday was one of this....with everything in it. So that, yesterday no hat was made. But today... ;) Today is different. 

Si cum nu fiecare zi e la fel cu precedenta, atunci si acest articol va fi diferit. Voi incepe de la coada la cap ...si va voi arata cum am schimbat banda bias de saten cu o alta  banda,  matasoasa, speciala pentru palarii. Aceasta necesita doar o singura cusatura . Din pacate nu am gasit alta culoare la mercerie, dar imi place nuanta ei cafenie, fina, feminina. Ma gindesc -ca pentru toate palariile ce urmeaza sa le fac- sa folosesc tot acest model de banda...Ma gindesc....depinde de palarii....depinde ce idei....depinde de ziua de miine.

And as there is no day like other, then so this post will be different. I'll start with the end and I'll show you how I change that slippery sateen bias tape  with a new one, silky and special for hat-making. This is fixed with just one stitch-line. Like this. Unfortunately I didn't find any other colour at the shop, but I do like its gracious coffee shade, very feminine. I'm thinking that for the rest of my hats I will use just this kind of tape. I'm just thinking...depends on the type of hat...depends on what idea will I have....depends on the day of tomorrow ...Well, no ??

Exact la fel ca celelalte palarii , borul este intarit pe ambele parti, ceea ce il face "manevrabil" dupa dorinta. Am ales sa fie mai chic dezvelind o sprinceana....brosa este tot by tiktakro : "Floare de mac". 

The brim is interfaced on both side so it can be switched as desired in many shapes. 

I choose to make it a little bit more chic, revealing an eyebrow...the brooch is also by tiktakro : "Poppy flower".

Ei bine ? niste pareri , niste sfaturi, niste idei ???  astept cu interes.  

Well ?? some reviews, some advices, some ideeas ??? I wait all of them interestedly.
